Northern HEAT Returns After Two-Year Hiatus Posted May 4, 2022 After a two-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions, the Northern HEAT Fire Conference is back in Peace River this week. This 4-day training seminar and Trade Show, organized by the Peace Regional Fire Chiefs, runs from Wednesday, May 4 to Saturday, May 7 at the Fire Department’s Training site on the West Hill and at the Chateau Nova Hotel. Up to 200 Firefighters from across Alberta will participate in two days of Live Fire Training and two days of hands-on practical training, as well as conference seminars and a fire equipment vendor Trade Show.  Read More →

Flags at Half-Mast – National Day of Mourning, April 28, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 April 28 is the National Day of Mourning where we remember those lost due to workplace illness or incidents. According to figures from the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta (WCB), 178 people in Alberta were lost to workplace injury or illness in 2021.
