Are you passionate about aquatic activities and ensuring safe, fun experiences for all ages? We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Aquatics Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the Peace Regional Pool!

The Aquatic Coordinator is employed as a professional and shall serve as a technical advisor and consultant to the Manager of Recreation and Parks and Director of Community Services. They will perform independently in an environment that requires proactivity and initiative to ensure that the recreation facilities and programs are responsive and aligned to community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the aquatics facility, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive aquatic programs for various age groups and skill levels, including swim lessons, water aerobics, and lifeguard training.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of lifeguards, swim instructors, and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Coordinate special events, competitions, and community outreach initiatives to promote aquatic programming and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and facility maintenance tasks.


  • Degree in recreation facilities management, physical education, business administration or related discipline.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role in aquatic recreation administration, preferably in a public recreation facility setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with aquatic facilities, pool systems and programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the applicant with the knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will be considered.
  • AARFP Leadership Skills Certificate.
  • AARFP Swimming Pool Operator Level 1 & 2 Certificates.
  • Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
  • Must be willing to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Check.
  • Must currently hold and maintain the following certifications: Standard First Aid, CPR, AED.

Full Time • Permanent Employment

Wage: $31.95 per hour (wage is currently under review)
Hours: 8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week
