The Government of Alberta has announced a new plan to incrementally ease Public Health Restrictions. Step 1 of the Province’s plan will come into effect on February 8, 2021. Step 1 will ease restrictions for restaurants, children’s school-related activities, and indoor fitness facilities. For further details please the Government of Alberta’s Website.
Step 1 Impacts on Municipal Facilities:
The easing of restrictions for indoor fitness allows only for one-on-one training with a certified trainer for individuals or households by appointment only. Individual workouts without a trainer are not permitted.
Therefore, the following Town facilities will be impacted as follows;
- The Peace Regional Pool will be working with schools, while remaining closed to general public access.
- The Baytex Energy Centre is working with their regular users to accommodate their needs within the Step 1 Provincial restrictions. The facility will remain closed to general public access.
- The Peace River Museum Archives, and Mackenzie Centre will remain closed to the public until further notice. Staff can still be contacted 780-624-4261.
