As of April 1, 2025, the Town of Peace River's recycling program is now managed by Circular Materials, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating efficient recycling systems.

This change is part of Alberta's new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, which shifts recycling costs from taxpayers to producers, encouraging innovative solutions and reducing packaging waste.

What This Means for You

  • No Changes to Your Routine: Continue recycling as usual — collection schedules and accepted materials remain the same.
  • New Recycling App: The app provides recycling schedules, material search, and service alerts. Visit circularmaterials.ca/app to learn more and download the app.
  • New Resource for Recycling Information: Visit circularmaterials.ca/peaceriver for detailed information about recycling in Peace River, including guides and updates.
