Notice of Bylaws

Bylaws to repeal and replace the Citadel Park Area Structure Plan Bylaw No. 1915, amend the Municipal Development Plan No. 1874, and amend the Land Use Bylaw No. 1891.

Pursuant to Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, being Chapter M-26 of the Statutes of Alberta, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Peace River will hold a Public Hearing before the second reading of:

  • Bylaw No. 2104 Upper West Peace North Area Structure Plan
  • Bylaw No. 2105 Upper West Peace North ASP amendment to the Municipal Development Plan
  • Bylaw No. 2106 Upper West Peace North ASP Redistricting

Bylaw No. 2104 the Upper West Peace North (UWPN) area structure plan (ASP), provides for the future subdivision and development of the plan area and facilitates the realignment of municipal water and sewer infrastructure away from the top of bank of the Peace River through the plan area. Bylaw No. 2105 updates the Future Land Use Concept of the Municipal Development Plan, to allow for the commercial and residential development of the ASP area.

Bylaw No. 2106 amends the land use bylaw and redistricts the primary plan area as directed by the ASP from the Residential – Village Estate District (R-VE) to the Agricultural-Urban Reserve District (A-UR) as shown in Schedule “A”. Specifically, Bylaw No. 2106 redistricts:

Together, the three bylaws ensure there is a consistent municipal planning framework for the area.

The Council of the Town of Peace River has given first reading to Bylaw No. 2104, Bylaw No. 2105 and Bylaw No. 2106 and will hold a public hearing as follows:
