Northern HEAT Returns After Two-Year Hiatus Posted May 4, 2022 After a two-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions, the Northern HEAT Fire Conference is back in Peace River this week. This 4-day training seminar and Trade Show, organized by the Peace Regional Fire Chiefs, runs from Wednesday, May 4 to Saturday, May 7 at the Fire Department’s Training site on the West Hill and at the Chateau Nova Hotel. Construction Work on 89 St. & 103 Ave. (Upper West Peace) Posted May 3, 2022 Crews will be commencing work along 89 Street at 103 Avenue in Upper West Peace on Thursday, May 5, 2022. This is part of the Shaftesbury Trail Utility Realignment Project. We will be progressing up 89th Street up to the Ski Chalet over the next month. Residents may encounter occasional delays in these areas as this work takes place over upcoming months. Flags at Half-Mast – National Day of Mourning, April 28, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 April 28 is the National Day of Mourning where we remember those lost due to workplace illness or incidents. According to figures from the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta (WCB), 178 people in Alberta were lost to workplace injury or illness in 2021. In honour of those lost, flags at municipal facilities will be lowered to half-mast for the day. Flags are lowered in accordance with the Town of Peace River Flag Protocol Policy.Read More →
