Flags Lowered Following Quebec Terror Attack

January 30, 2017

In response to the terrorist attack in Quebec City on Sunday night, the Town of Peace River is joining with Canadians across to the country to condemn this attack on our shared values of freedom of religion and freedom of assembly and freedom from fear. We support our Muslim residents who contribute so much to the community of Peace River, you are welcome in this town, in this community, this province, and country.

“We are deeply saddened by the recent acts of terror in Quebec City, and stand with the good people of that province who are this week decrying the violence exhibited on Sunday,” said Mayor Tom Tarpey.

Flags at all municipal facilities will be lowered until further notice.
