Alberta Health Services is looking for volunteers to co-facilitate the Better Choices, Better Health® chronic disease self-management program.
Better Choices, Better Health® (BCBH®) Self-Management program is a 6 week program that meets once a week for 2.5 hours. Each class is led by two trained leaders. The class is attended by those who have a chronic health condition, are supporting someone with a health condition, or want to prevent a chronic health condition. The program is based on Stanford University’s widely tested Chronic Disease Self-Management program. Participants learn how to be good self-managers by dealing with the physical and emotional challenges of long term health conditions.
Training for new leaders takes place on September 27, 28, October 4 and 5th in Peace River, at no cost. The commitment after that is to lead one program/year. Give me a call to learn more!
