May 5 – 11, 2019 has been designated National Hospice Palliative Care Awareness Week and is supported by the Peace Palliative Care Society; and,
Whereas
It is a time to celebrate and share achievements of Hospice Palliative Care. This year’s focus is on “Busting the Myths” about misconceptions regarding accessibility and qualifying criteria. People are encouraged to learn more about Hospice Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning; and,
Whereas
The Town of Peace River recognizes the importance of awareness and education about the network of palliative care services within the community; and,
Be it Resolved
I, Tom Tarpey, Mayor of Peace River, hereby proclaim May 5 – 11, 2019 to be Hospice Palliative Care Awareness Week in Peace River and urge all citizens to participate by learning more about palliative care and support palliative care services in our area.
