Peace Regional Victim Services works in partnership with RCMP from Peace River, Grimshaw, McLennan, Red Earth Creek, and satellite detachments of Woodland Cree First Nation and Duncan First Nation to provide assistance to victims of crime or tragedy. Self-referrals and community referrals are accepted.
Emotional support, crisis intervention, practical assistance and information to victims of crime or tragedy as well as referrals to community resources. Information is provided on: Victim Impact Statement, Request for Restitution and the Financial Benefits Program as well as the criminal justice process. Court preparation and court accompaniment/support is available to adult and child victims/witnesses. Handouts are available on various topics including: home and business security, personal safety, grief and loss as well as abuse related topics. Emergency response is available on a 24 hour basis at the request of the RCMP.
