The Town of Peace River, Velocity Group and MacMillan Construction are preparing for the 2022 construction phase of the Neighbourhood Infrastructure Renewal Project for 94 Ave. and 96 St. The tentative construction start date, subject to weather conditions, is early June 2022. We will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, May 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Athabasca Hall. This will provide an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to learn more and ask questions. Help us get the word out by sharing this event information with your neighbours, friends and family, especially those living in the neighbourhood northwest of the Co-op grocery
Stop on by the Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre to experience the travelling exhibit from the Canadian Language Museum, "Beyond Words: Dictionaries and Indigenous Languages." In their words, this exhibit "highlights the complex relationship between Indigenous languages and dictionaries over several centuries, from word lists and dictionaries developed for exploration, colonization, conversion and assimilation purposes, to online language materials being developed by Indigenous communities to transmit the elders’ language knowledge to today’s youth." Admission to the museum and this exhibit is by donation.
