KAIROS Blanket Exercise has been offered across Canada, in schools, to community groups, employers, and the general public. The Blanket Exercise is an interactive experience looking at Canadian history from an Indigenous viewpoint. Developed with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators the activity strives to speak truth, and broaden understanding, respect and Reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous people. Peace River Aboriginal Interagency has completed a version with a localized script to the Peace Region. It is an interactive and experiential 2 hour training which teaches Indigenous history through an Indigenous lens. Facilitators guide participants through a summarized version of historic events from pre-contact to colonization,

We will have a sharing circle afterwards and start with a smudge and opening prayer.

Fall Fibre Arts Market Stop by to chat with artists to learn more about their crafts and check out a variety of fibre items for sale! If you can't make it, items by local fibre artists will be for sale at the Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre from October 4 to October 29.

This is a special service to honour and remember those who have gone missing and whose lives have been taken. At 4:30, participants will march from the Peace River Museum to Riverfront Park, where a memorial service will take place. All are asked to wear red in support.
