Adopt a Grandparent
The Town of Peace River’s Adopt-a-Grandparent program is returning to help seniors who may be feeling isolated during the holiday season. Holiday gift bags will be delivered to seniors in Peace River, including those who reside at Heritage Towers, Points West Living and Sutherland Nursing Home.
If you would like to bring cheer to a senior this year you can pick up a gift bag at the Town of Peace River and fill it with unisex gifts. A suggested value for gifts is between $25.00 – $50.00. Filled bags can be returned to the Town of Peace River and FCSS staff and volunteers will deliver your gifts in time for the Holidays.
Seniors living in care facilities will be referred by the facilities, and seniors living independently can be referred to this program by either family, friends, or support agencies by calling (780)624-1000 ext. 1030. Confidentiality is assured for all participants.
Pick up a bag between Nov. 13- Dec. 14, 2023 and return it filled with gifts by Dec. 18, 2023 and our elves will deliver to Seniors in need.
