Congratulations to the Peace River Municipal Library on celebrating 90 years as a treasured community hub in our town!
“Ninety years is a great achievement,” said Town of Peace River Mayor Elaine Manzer, who attended the cake-fuelled anniversary event Saturday, April 20, 2024. “It takes a lot of volunteers and good staff to have a library survive that long and continuously improve.”
The library started in 1934, thanks to fundraising efforts from The Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, a charitable organization that ran a musical comedy skit to generate funds for books and shelves.
With a goal for readers to grow their capabilities as they age, our Peace River Municipal Library offers something for everyone.
