NEW: Two additional yard waste bins have been installed at the Eco Centre.

In addition to the 2 at the Centennial Parking Lot downtown (which will continue), we have 2 new yard waste bins installed at the Peace Regional Waste Management Company Eco Centre on the West Hill.

These bins are a pilot project for the remainder of summer to give residents another option for disposal of yard waste.

Please note that residency cards are now required to access the Eco Centre, and the yard waste bins will be available only during opening hours of the centre. The Centennial bins will continue to be accessible 24/7.

It’s your yard, but it can be our waste!

The Town of Peace River has set up a Yard Waste Disposal Bin at the north end of the Centennial parking lot (9802 101 Street), specifically — and ONLY — for yard waste.

Acceptable yard waste includes items such as:

  • Tree and shrub trimmings
  • Plant remains
  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Trees
  • Stumps

Please do not place ay material that has not been the results of landscaping and yard maintenance. That means no household waste, rocks, bricks, plastic, large amounts of dirt, or any other items that are not yard waste. Please do not dump any items that are not biodegradable.

Do not use plastic bags to dispose of yard waste. Compostable or paper bags are OK!

Bins will be emptied on Fridays and on Mondays — and on an as-needed basis throughout the rest of the week, depending on how frequently the bin is used.

The yard waste disposal bin will be available until October 31, 2024.
