Shell Rotary House

Representatives from the Shell Rotary House presented to council on the fundraising efforts of the society and their plans for the future. A copy of the presentation is available by tapping or clicking the link above.

NAIT Boreal Research Institute

A representative from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s (NAIT) Boreal Research Institute presented to council regarding school’s ongoing work at their West Hill Campus. The Town of Peace River recently wrote a letter of support to help the Boreal Research Institute apply for a repeating grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Kineticor Three Creeks Power Project

Representatives from Kineticor presented to council on the Three Creeks power plant project and its progress. A copy of the presentation is available by tapping or clicking the link above.

Alberta Transportation Bridge Update

Representatives from Alberta Transportation and AECOM presented to council regarding the construction progress of the Peace River bridge. Unfinished Business

Peace Regional Recreation Centre Budget

Council approved a motion to increase the Peace Regional Recreation Centre’s budget by $862,917 with staff to report back on funding options to cover project costs. New Business

Amendment to Community Peace Officer Policy

Council approved an amendment to the Community Peace OFficer policy regarding the handling of cannabis seized as evidence.

Visit by APEGA President

Council was enabled to attend an upcoming visit by the President of the Alberta Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and to bring greetings on behalf of the community. Council will also discuss issues within the geosciences, specific to local concerns.

Attendance at Remembrance Day Ceremony

The Mayor was enabled to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony taking place at TA Norris on November 11 at 10:30 am. He was also enabled to lay a wreath and speak on behalf of the Town of Peace River.
