South End House Fire

Posted November 24, at 8:25 am

Firefighters are on the scene today of a house fire that started in the early hours of the morning. The fire is mostly extinguished but crews are working on remaining hot spots and expect to be there for a portion of the day. Please avoid the area of 103 St. and 117 Ave. as emergency vehicles and personnel are still on the scene today.

Crews were called out at around 1 am for a house fire in the Town’s South End. Although the initial house where the fire originated was destroyed the fire was kept from spreading, which saved neighbouring houses. No injuries were sustained. The Peace River Fire Department would like to thank the County of Northern Lights and Northern Sunrise County Firefighters who helped, as well as Alberta Health Services and the RCMP for assisting. Also, thank you to ATCO Gas and ATCO Electric for helping to turn the power off briefly to assist in the fire suppression efforts.
