Saddleback Park Redesign

September 2021 – New Paved Trails in Saddleback Park

The installation of a network of paved trails and an upgrade to the parking lot is scheduled to begin the week of September 7th, 2021.  The construction is expected to last until the end of September, although the timelines are weather dependent.  As safety of our residents is priority, the site will be closed to the public during construction. For any questions, please feel free to contact Community Services at 780-624-1000.

Phase 2 centres on the installation of a paved trail network that will connect neighbourhoods via existing access points. The new paved trails will provide ease of access for those with mobility aids and strollers, improving safety in the park for all users.

The layout of the trails is available below, please tap or click to view a high resolution PDF version.

Saddleback Park Redesign Background

Approved by Town Council in 2017, the Saddleback Park Redesign Plan was developed following an extensive public engagement process. Phase 1 of the plan was completed in 2018 with the installation of new playground equipment, site grading, and a toboggan hill.  In 2019 shade trees were planted near the playground. Completion of Phase 1 and 2 of the Saddleback Redesign forms a Council strategic plan objective.

Saddleback Park Redesign Report (2017)

The Saddleback Park Redesign Report was approved by Council in 2017. Produced after a public engagement process, the report outlines a plan to redesign the park and playground in Saddleback Park.
