An overall location plan for the proposed 2020 works is appended to this notice for your information. The intended sequencing of the work is indicated. It should be noted that if scheduling conflicts arise for sub-trades the construction sequencing could be subject to change and some work on 108 Avenue and the 103A Street lane may occur while construction of 106 Avenue is on-going.

Please be advised that the Town of Peace River, Ruel Bros. Contracting and Velocity Group are proceeding with the 2020 construction phase of the Neighbourhood Renewal Project for your local residential area. Prior year construction work clean-up, repair of deficiencies and completion of other outstanding works has commenced and will continue through May and into June. The underground rehabilitation construction work on 106th Avenue is tentatively scheduled to start early June. Substantial completion of all work is anticipated prior to October 15, 2020.

Glen Armstrong Construction Ltd. has commenced preparations for isolation of watermains to facilitate the underground works on 106th Avenue. This work involves the temporary installation of above ground water services that will be connected to a hose bibb tap at your residence. These lines will be disinfected and tested for potable water servicing use prior to connection to your residence. The connection of these lines is anticipated late next week. Mobilization of equipment and materials will be taking place through the first week of June. Once underground excavation commences (week of June 8, 2020) the road will be closed for Public vehicular access. Further to road closure your garbage bins must be placed in the alleyways for collection by Public works to a bin that will be located at the west end of the street.

On Tuesday June 2, 2020, the Contracting will commence CCTV (video recording) and cleaning of private sanitary sewer services on streets that have been completed to date. This is for all 2018 and 2019 construction areas. The Contractor will require access to your home to complete these works. There are 48 services requiring such work and it will occur over a period of at least 3 days. If any residents do not want the Contractor to complete these works, please advise Karrie Kennedy with Velocity Group. 2020 construction areas will require the same later this summer / fall.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions and concerns we encourage communication via phone and email. Personal communications must respect self distancing measures. The Prime Contractor’s COVID Safety Management Plan is available for your review should you have any concerns. Communication is necessary between all parties to foster a successful and safe project.

There may be times that the Contractor must access your home for the purpose of isolating the water system, completing private servicing work including CCTV and other indicated works. The Contractor will be asking the necessary questions with respect to the health of you and yours and with respect to contact that any may have had with other individuals that are or have been sick. All personnel involved in the project will be asking the same of themselves prior to returning to work each day. Self isolation of sick or positively exposed project personnel will be required. Any necessary precautionary measures set out by Public Health will be adhered to. Contractors entering your home will be wearing gloves and N95 masks or equivalent.

Precautionary measures must and will be adhered to. If circumstances prohibit entry by the Contractor (ie. access refusal by Homeowner, a sick individual in the home or individuals that have been exposed to other sick individuals) it is requested and necessary that the homeowner cooperate with the Contractor to turn off the main service valve in your home or to possibly monitor your service line(s) at specific instances during the construction operations.
