PRFD Warns of Fraudulent Fundraising

The Peace River Fire Department is asking residents to be wary of a telephone scam involving fraudulent fundraising.

Over the last few weeks, several Fire Departments in Alberta have been the subject of fraudulent fundraising activities. Calls were made seeking donations on behalf of a specific fire department, in each case the fire department in question was not fundraising. The call came from someone pretending to be a firefighter at the local department.

The Town of Peace River’s Fire Department is not currently fundraising, if you receive a call from someone claiming to be fundraising on our behalf, please contact the RCMP.
