Pat's Creek

(Firefighters and Public Works assembling a Terradaptor, a three-legged rescue lift)

June 23, 2017

Peace River Firefighters and EMS were dispatched earlier this afternoon after reports of a youth trapped inside Pat’s Creek Culvert were received mid-afternoon on Friday, June 23.

Members of the Peace River Fire Department as well as Alberta Health Services made their way through the culvert by foot. At the same time Town of Peace River, Public Works was able to open the culvert from the top allowing first responders to rescue the trapped person.

One youth was removed from the culvert and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

This incident ended in hugs and a happy reunion with family, however, it could have had a much more tragic end. The Town of Peace River, the Fire Department, and Alberta Health Services would like to stress that Pat’s Creek culvert is not a place to play or walk. Please stay out.
