Posted July 15, 2022

The Peace River Brigade will be landing in the Town of Peace River on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

The brigade, a part of the Canadian Voyageur Brigade Society, will be embarking on a 6-day expedition down the Peace River. They will be departing from Clayhurst Bridge, near the Alberta-BC border, on July 23 and end their journey at the Town of Peace River on July 28.

Registration is currently ongoing, but 90 to 100 people are expected to be paddling the 8 to 9 boats. The theme for the brigade is “Passing the Paddle,” highlighting the importance of having more young paddlers, Indigenous, and new people to brigade events.

The brigade is expected to be landing at Riverfront Park in the afternoon on Thursday, July 28, around 2:00pm. All are welcome to come out to see the canoes and talk with the paddlers about their experiences.
