Passing of Former Town Councillor Rod Burr

Posted March 16, 2021

The Town of Peace River is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Town Councillor Rod Burr today.

“Rod was the most principled man I have ever met. We were all lucky to have had him as Councillor and Civil Servant,” said Mayor Tom Tarpey, who served on Council with Rod Burr from 2013 to 2017.

Rod was a devoted community member and Town Councillor. He served one term starting in 2013. During that time he represented Council and the Town of Peace River in a number of roles, from the Municipal Library Board to the Peace Regional Waste Management Company. He will be dearly missed.

Flags will be lowered at Town of Peace River facilities until at least Friday in memoriam.
