Whereas
The National Day of Mourning is April 28; and,
Whereas
The Town of Peace River is a large employer locally, and values employee safety; and,
Whereas
The Mayor and Council of the Town of Peace River wish to draw attention to issue of workplace safety; and,
Whereas
Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta Reports 144 workplace fatalities in 2016,
Be it Resolved
That the Mayor and Council of the Town of Peace River hereby proclaims April 28, 2017 as “National Day of Mourning,” in the Town of Peace River, Alberta.
