Baytex Energy Centre Temporary Closure

A serious health and safety incident occurred at the Baytex Energy Centre on December 7th, 2021. The incident only involved staff of the Town of Peace River.  Occupational Health and Safety has been engaged and is conducting a formal investigation.

No further details on the staff or incident will be publicly provided as this matter is under investigation.  The Town can confirm that staff members involved are receiving treatment and doing well.

The Town thanks you for your understanding while the facility remains closed during this time.  Reopening dates will be provided as soon as they are confirmed.

The Baytex Energy Centre is set to reopen to the public tomorrow, Friday, December 10, at 8:30am.

The building will be back to full operations and regular scheduled hours with all previously booked rentals, programs, organized groups continuing as per normal.

We would like to thank all the residents, visitors, and patrons of the Baytex Energy Centre for their understanding and patience during this time. We understand that the Baytex Centre, along with it’s programs and spaces, is an important resource to the community, and thus have strived to have it open again to the public as soon as possible.
