Starting this evening, Northern Alberta is under a Snowfall Warning, with expected total snow accumulations ranging from 20 to 40 cm by Saturday evening.
As per our Snow & Ice Management Policy, during a major snowfall event parking bans will be in force on Priority 1 (P1) routes. This ban will be in effect 12 hours after the snowfall event has ended from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and remain in force until the next following Monday at which point the parking bans noted in 6.4.2 of the same policy will be in effect.
If we receive the predicted accumulations, crews will get started tomorrow with graders, and eventually switch into centerline windrows. Equipment will be available Saturday for additional work. Snow pickup will then start for P1 routes Monday morning.
Additionally, we ask that residents please drive accordingly to the road conditions, and avoid strain when shoveling snow.
