River Levels

April 25, 2018
Winter thaw is leading to high river levels around the Town of Peace River, this surge is a normal part of the thaw cycle. Town crews are monitoring the Smoky and Heart Rivers as well as, St. Germaine and Pat’s Creeks, and we are in contact with Alberta Environment and Parks regarding conditions in the watershed.

Please stay away from the water and banks as the current in the creeks and rivers has increased.

St. Germaine Creek overflowed it’s banks earlier this week. Town crews have placed sandbags in problems areas and are keeping an eye as the water recedes.
