Fire Department Welcomes New Members
Five new firefighters were welcomed into the department during a ceremony at the main Fire Hall in Peace River.
Manuel Gomez, Arsalan Hamidi, Elysia Pan, Ray Chen and Weberville Firefighter; Tim Berger, completed all their probationary requirements to become fully responding members of the department. They were welcomed as full firefighters during a ceremony on November 28, 2017.

In addition to the new members, the Peace River and County of Northern Lights Fire Department presented five members with their “Engineer” designations. This is a new designation that was initiated this year and is given to members who are qualified to drive and operate all the Fire Department vehicles – currently a Class 3 Drivers license and a Pump Operators course. The new Engineers are County of Northern Lights Firefighters; Nolan Keddie and Drew Keddie from Weberville Fire Dept. and Danyel King and Cheryl Rogers from Dixonville Fire Dept. Graduate Firefighter Tim Berger was also presented with his Engineer designation as he has already qualified for that role.
Finally, we also had the pleasure of promoting two firefighters to more senior ranks. Nolan Keddie was promoted to Senior Firefighter and Peace River Firefighter Martin Cooper was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain.

Congrats to everyone and thank you for your hard work and dedication to keeping our communities safe.
