Digging in the Dirt Film Screening and Discussion A documentary about the psychological cost of working in Alberta's oil sands. To commemorate World Suicide Prevention day the Community Helpers Program will be hosting a film screening with a panelist discussion to follow. The event is free, but registration is required. This year's Fall Cleanup is being brought to your curbside on September 13th or 14th - depending on your regular garbage pickup day.
Culture Days is a multi-media event with arts and crafts activities for children and adults (mask making, clay bowls, monoprinting, street art, Peace flags and a dove mural), performances by local artists Croakin' Four, Northern Aces, 8 Squared, Muzyka Dancers and more! KAIROS Blanket Exercise has been offered across Canada, in schools, to community groups, employers, and the general public. The Blanket Exercise is an interactive experience looking at Canadian history from an Indigenous viewpoint. Developed with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators the activity strives to speak truth, and broaden understanding, respect and Reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous people. Peace River Aboriginal Interagency has completed a version with a localized script to the Peace Region. It is an interactive and experiential 2 hour training which teaches Indigenous history through an Indigenous lens. Facilitators guide participants through a summarized version of historic events from pre-contact to colonization,
