Trees & Railings Installed in South End

Posted June 11, 2021

Contractors are working in the South End this week finalizing the Neighborhood Renewal Project work in the area.

This includes replacing trees that were removed as part of the construction process. We’re also improving pedestrian safety along the riverside multi-use pathway with the installation of new handrails along a portion of the trail. When completed the new railings will look like the railings already in place along the river path such as near the Peace River Museum and near the old hospital site. The locations where the railings are being installed correspond with higher risk areas due to the steep riverbanks.
