Tree Removal on 99 Street

July 9, 2018

The trees on 99 Street in the Town of Peace River are scheduled to be removed on Monday, July 9, 2018 for utility upgrades in the South end. No historic trees will be removed in the process.Residents in the affected area were informed during a community consultation session that the trees along the boulevards were required to be removed.   This is due to the high risk of the trees to be damaged during construction and in turn to become a hazard tree.  New trees will be planted following construction.
To date pruning has occurred on 103 Street and one private tree was removed because it was on top of the curb stop. The tree was a Basswood tree and will be replaced with the same.
All trees that have been designated as historic trees will be saved.
