Town Council Update – October 28, 2019
Minutes
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on October 15, 2019, were approved.
Presentations
Council received a $30,000 donation for the Baytex Energy Centre from Bob and Toni Kinshella. The Town of Peace River is extremely grateful for their generous donation.
Bylaws
Bylaw 2055 Nuisances and Unsightly Property Bylaw Appeal Board
Council accepted the terms of reference as information. The terms of reference will return to Council along with a bylaw format at a later date.
New Business
Inter-Municipal Development Plan (IDP) Referral for Gravel Pit in MD Peace
Council directed Town Staff to contact the MD of Peace and inform them we are in favour and to identify dust and noise control as issues of importance and ask they adhere to the landscaping plan.
Peace River School Division Joint Meeting
Council was enabled to attend the upcoming joint meeting with the Peace River School Division.
Solar Farm Funding
Council moved to approve an investment and benefit stake — currently set at 15.3% Town/84.7%PSC and
subject to change — for the solar facility application/project and approve application costs not to exceed
$8,000.
Public Utility Lots
Staf was directed to post the notice online, social media, and to purchase ads in the Smoky River Express and Peace River Record-Gazette informing residents of the Public Utility Lot parking prohibition.
South Regional Waterline Truck Fill Ribbon-Cutting
Council was enabled to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
