Road Closure Following Fire
95 Ave has reopened to traffic.
10AM October 12, 2016
95 Avenue North of Sawridge Inn is closed following a structure fire that burnt down a storage shed Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called to 100 Street across from the Sawridge Inn at 3:30am, on Wednesday morning at which point the structure was fully involved. Crews from Peace River and Weberville worked to put out the fire and had it mostly extinguished by 6am. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Since then crews have been on site monitoring hotspots and assessing structural stability. As a result a section of 95 Street near 100 Avenue will be closed to traffic for part of the day as crews clean up. Drivers should avoid the area if possible. Additionally there is some ice that has built up from the water used by the fire department. Town crews are using sand to mitigate this but caution is advised.
