Bridge contractors are working on some technical challenges following yesterday’s girder launch. As a result, the Peace River Bridge will again be reduced to one-lane alternating traffic tonight, November 8 at 7 pm. Contractors hope to have it reopened by 7 am on Saturday, November 9. During this time a portion of River Road, 94 Street, from 91 Ave. near Wet Willy’s Wand Wash to 94 Ave. near the Belle Petroleum Centre, will be closed as well.

Bridge contractors have informed us that the girder launch and road closures have been moved up by one day.

This means that a portion of River Road, 94 Street, from 91 Ave. near Wet Willy’s Wand Wash to 94 Ave. near the Belle Petroleum Centre, will be closed at 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 6, the road will remain closed until Friday, November 8 at 9 am.

The Peace River Bridge, Highway 2, will be reduced to one-lane alternating traffic beginning at 7 pm on Wednesday, November 6, that lane will be reopened at 10 pm on Thursday, November 7.

Please allow extra time when traveling on these dates as there will be traffic delays.

Bridge contractors have informed us that they will be closing a portion of River Road, 94 Street, from 91 Ave. near Wet Willy’s Wand Wash to 94 Ave. near the Belle Petroleum Centre. The closure will begin at 6 pm on November 7 and will reopen on November 9 at 10 am.

The Highway 2 Bridge, current Peace River Bridge, will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7 pm on November 7, that lane will be reopened at 10 pm on November 8. This could be extended if the construction team encounters delays.

Please allow extra time when traveling on these dates as there will be traffic delays.

The closure is to facilitate the bridge project’s fourth girder launch.
