Community Mental Health Services
Mental Health Services help individuals and families who are experiencing mental health problems. Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, therapy and support are provided.

Referrals to other professional or community agencies are made when appropriate. Information to individuals, community agencies or groups about mental health and mental illness are provided.
There is no fee for mental health services. Self-referral is available for individuals/families. Travel services are provided to additional communities. Please ask about the availability of these services in your community.
Child and Youth Services: Child and Youth Services may be able to help if your child is experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, too much sadness, anger or irritability, problems with attention, problems resulting from trauma, or other mental health concerns.
Assertive Outreach: for persons living with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Providing a range of supports to clients that are individualized, focused on recovery and assist with the various areas of community living.
Adult Short Term Treatment: For anyone over 18 years of age experiencing mental health problems that significantly affect functioning or coping at work, home, school, or in their social environment; anxiety, depressions, panic attacks, eating disorders, bereavement or trauma.
Diversion: To reduce contacts with the Justice system for those who are mentally ill and who commit minor criminal offenses, by linking them with community based treatment and support services.
Corrections Transition: Short term community reintegration and stability for those with addiction and mental health concerns upon their release from Provincial Correctional Institutions.
Supportive Housing: A group living environment for clients who are connected and receiving services from the Assertive Outreach Program who require additional support to maintain a residency which helps them live independently in the community.
Wellness Clinic: Designed to support the health and recovery of adults living with mental illness through the addition of nursing care. Education, symptom management, coping strategies, medication administration and information.
Walk-In Counseling: No appointments necessary and no charge for the session. Offered Thursdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Adult walk-in sessions are between 8 am and 10:24 am and 1 pm and 3 pm. Child and youth walk-in sessions are between 8 am and 10 am and 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Some same day appointments can also be booked on Thursdays by calling Peace River mental Health bwteen 8 am and 9 am on Thursdaya.
Mental Health Promotion: Education for community about mental illness to raise awareness of our local mental health services and to decrease stigma through awareness activities and workshops and presentations.
Clubhouse: A community organized to support individuals living with the effects of mental illness where they can connect and recover through socializing recreation, education and meaningful work. See Self Help and Supports Section for more information about Clubhouse.
