Alberta Works helps unemployed people find and keep jobs, and employers meet their need for skilled workers. Services are offered in different ways through:
Employment Services – Includes career counseling, job fairs, workshops and information sessions to assist with resumes and interviews.
Employment and Career Resources – A resource center with job search publications, computers, printer, fax and photocopier and information about training opportunities Alberta Works helps low income Albertans meet their basic costs of living. Services are offered in different ways through:
Income Support – financial assistance to Albertans who do not have the resources to meet their basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter.
Health Benefits – eligible Albertans can receive health coverage for themselves and dependents to meet their health needs.
Child Support Services – helps eligible parents with limited income to get child support agreements or court orders.
