Peace River 100
2019 is the Town of Peace River’s Centennial year. Thanks to the dedicated work of the volunteers on our Centennial Planning Committee there are a number of exciting events and activities taking place throughout the year.

Activities and events
May until the end of the year – A Centennial Exhibit and Artifacts will be on display at the Peace River Museum, and photographs will be on display at the NAR Station.
May 15 to June 12 – Logo Art Show, showcasing the PR100 Logo submissions will be at the Peace River Municipal Library.
June 21 – Official unveiling of permanent flagpoles and the raising of Treaty 8 and Métis Flags, Riverfront Park.
August (Day TBA) – Centennial Tea, NAR station.
September (Day TBA) – Peace Regional Recreation Centre Opening.
December 1 – Closing ceremonies, location TBD. We will be seeking submissions for a time capsule that will be sealed for 50 years.
Promotional toolkits are available for community groups who want to plan free, local, Centennial events.
A Centennial Mural will be installed, details TBA.
Planting of Centennial Trees, locations and quantities TBA.
Kick Off Event
Our kick-off event for the year took place on January 12, 2019 at Athabasca Hall, it included performances by Peace Players and the Peace River Community Choir
