Notice of Bylaw Amendment – Bylaw to Amend The Town of Peace River Land Use Bylaw No. 1891

Pursuant to Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, being Chapter M-26 of the Statutes of Alberta, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Peace River will hold a Public Hearing before the second reading of Bylaw No. 2072 to amend the Town of Peace River Land Use Bylaw for the purposes of enabling secondary stage housing, an extension of the Women’s Shelter services, at 10011 – 98 Street.
Bylaw No. 2072 includes the following amendments to the Land Use Bylaw:
Redistrict Plan 5255BD, Block 2, Lot 5 from the Mixed Commercial-Residential District (C-R) to the Community Development District (COM) District.
The Council of the Town of Peace River has given first reading to Bylaw No. 2072 and will hold a public hearing as follows:

Public Hearing Procedures During COVID-19
Due to the pandemic, Peace River Town Council is currently holding meetings digitally. This has changed the way we hold public hearings. Below are the options available for those who wish to attend the public hearing and speak for or against the Bylaw.
All Council meetings are broadcast on our website, peaceriver.ca/council.
Those who wish to attend the meeting to speak at the hearing may attend in person but due to physical distancing we are limited to six people. You must RSVP so we can reserve seating.
If you would like to virtually attend the meeting and intend to speak to the Bylaw, you will need to RSVP and we will arrange for you to have access to the meeting platform to speak.
Comments and submissions on the Bylaw can be made until the closing of the public hearing through the form on Council’s webpage. The form is located right below the video stream and will allow you to email comments directly.
If you know you will be speaking on the Bylaw, we encourage you make arrangements in advance by contacting the Manager of Planning and Development.
