Joint Media Release: Town of Peace River and CUPE Local 898 Ratify New Collective Agreement

Peace River, Alberta – The Town of Peace River and CUPE Local 898 are pleased to announce the successful ratification of a new four-year collective agreement.

Effective January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026, this agreement marks a significant step forward in supporting the Town’s workforce, enhancing public services, and enabling predictable salary and benefit costs for multi-year budgeting purposes.

Representing skilled utilities, public works, and recreation staff, the four-year contract includes wage increases of 2.4% (2023), 2% (2024), 1.75% (2025), and 2.6% (2026).

This agreement reflects a collaborative effort to enhance working conditions and recognizes the dedication of Town employees. Both parties are committed to fostering a positive work environment and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality public services.
