The Town of Peace River is looking for energetic and responsible individuals to join our team at the Peace Regional Pool as a casual Lifeguards or Lifeguard/Instructor L1’s.
The successful candidates will be responsible to the Shift Supervisor, and will assist the other staff members in providing maximum opportunities for the public to enjoy recreational activities at the Peace Regional Pool. They are active in preventing injuries, provide general lifeguarding duties and teaching lessons.
Lifeguard Qualifications:
- National Lifeguard Award
- Aquatic Emergency Care or a First Aid certificate – Level C CPR with AED (recognized by O.H.S.)
- WHMIS certificate or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Minimum Grade 9 or equivalent
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Child Intervention Check
- Good public relations skills both on the phone and in person
Lifeguard/Instructor L1 Qualifications (in addition to the above):
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
These positions fall within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 898 and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
Casual Employment
Wages:
Lifeguard: $19.09 per hour
Lifeguard/Instructor L1: $19.63 per hour
Hours: These positions are casual and will work evenings and weekends.
