The Town of Peace River is accepting applications for one (1) permanent, fulltime Labourer 2 accountable to the Public Works Coordinator.
The Labourer 2 is a semi-skilled position essential to the day-to-day operations of the Town of Peace River. The position will perform labour duties and operate equipment for snow-clearing and ice control, assist with utility digs, perform maintenance on infrastructure, and will assist other departments as required. The ideal candidate will have the following key characteristics:
- Experience operating light equipment, hand and power tools.
- A background working with a modern safety program.
- The ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a professional manner at all times.
- Possessing a Class 5 License.
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure is an asset.
The position needs someone with a willingness to be on-call, take action in emergency response (ie, during flooding, etc.), and a desire to be part of building a great community.
Full Time • Permanent Employment
Wage: $28.69 per hour (wage is currently under review)
Hours: Monday to Friday • 40 hours per week • On call required.
