Fire Chief for a day

June 27, 2018
Three lucky Elementary students had the chance to be Peace River’s Fire Chief, for one day each.

Marley Ladue (Springfield School), Ava Bennis (Good Shepherd School), and Maya Cote (Ecole des Quatre-Vents) each had their chance after winning a draw organized by the Peace River Fire Department. To enter the draw the students had to complete a Home Fire Safety Plan.

Each of the lucky winners had their own day to be chief. That day involved getting a ride to school in the morning with the Fire Department in the department’s main truck. At the end of the school day the honourary chief got to leave early, once again in a fire truck. They were then accompanied by a fire crew to pick up a cold tasty treat before being driven home. The three Chiefs also got to take home a Fire Department t-shirt, toque and membership coin.

Congratulations to this year’s winners!
