Spring Cleanup 2022
We are pleased to announce this year’s Spring Cleanup will be done through curbside pickup. Items for pickup must be out by 7:00 a.m. on your regular garbage collection day and during the week GFL will be hauling items away. You are allowed to put out two large items along with other items contained within a 2-meter x 4-meter area on your yard, or portion of your property that is easily accessible from the road. Acceptable items for collection include: Stoves, washers and dryers; Fridges, freezers, and air conditioners *must be tagged free of refrigerants by an approved technician → contact a local HVAC company

The Town of Peace River, Velocity Group and MacMillan Construction are preparing for the 2022 construction phase of the Neighbourhood Infrastructure Renewal Project for 94 Ave. and 96 St. The tentative construction start date, subject to weather conditions, is early June 2022. We will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, May 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Athabasca Hall. This will provide an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to learn more and ask questions. Help us get the word out by sharing this event information with your neighbours, friends and family, especially those living in the neighbourhood northwest of the Co-op grocery

Beyond Words: Dictionaries and Indigenous Languages – Travelling Exhibit
Stop on by the Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre to experience the travelling exhibit from the Canadian Language Museum, "Beyond Words: Dictionaries and Indigenous Languages." In their words, this exhibit "highlights the complex relationship between Indigenous languages and dictionaries over several centuries, from word lists and dictionaries developed for exploration, colonization, conversion and assimilation purposes, to online language materials being developed by Indigenous communities to transmit the elders’ language knowledge to today’s youth." Admission to the museum and this exhibit is by donation.

Join Norm Brownlee and the Peace River Museum for an afternoon of education and nature on a guided walk along part of the Pat’s Creek Hiking Trail. Meet at the Trail Head by the Peace River Agricultural Grounds (Range Road 214A). Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes!
