Core Services

Our programming is divided up into five core services.

Parent Education

Offering support for everyday parenting from toddlers to teens.

The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is an internationally recognized research-based program that gives parents the skills they need to build strong family relationships, manage misbehaviour and prevent problems from happening in the first place. Tipsheets, Primary Groups, Teen Groups and One on One Sessions are available.

We also offer Circle of Security Parenting, Kids Have Stress Too and the Fun Friends program.   We regularly bring qualified guest speakers to our programs to share information on a variety of relevant parenting topics.

Call 780-624-0770 for more information or send us an email using the form below.  All inquiries will be kept confidential.

Developmental Screening

The Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) looks at children’s development from two months to five and a half years old, in five key areas:

Communication Skills

Gross Motor Skills

Fine Motor Skills

Problem Solving Skills

Personal-Social Skills

The Ages and Stages Social-Emotional Questionnaire (ASQ-SE) focuses exclusively on the social and emotional development of your child. For more information, talk to any of our trained staff members and they will be happy to assist you.

Family Support

An engaging environment can help families build strong connections. Our Peace River centre offers free drop in play (Ages 0-6) Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9AM to 5PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30AM to 5PM, and Saturdays from 10AM to 2PM (excluding long weekends).  We also offer drop in play time at our Fairview center, located in EE Oliver School, on Monday mornings from 9:00 to noon.  Parent Link staff are available during drop in hours to answer any questions you may have.

Early Childhood Development & Care

We offer a wide variety of learning through play programs in Peace River and well over 20 surrounding communities in our region, giving parents/caregivers and their children unique opportunities to support early learning in a stimulating, engaging environment.  Programs focus on the five developmental domains: physical health and wellbeing, communication skills and general knowledge, social competence, language and thinking skills and emotional maturity.  Check out our monthly newsletter for details.

Information & Referrals

We offer an extensive brochure wall and resource lending library. We also have knowledgeable staff who can help to connect families with community programs, agencies and resources during all open hours.
