The shelter provides a safe, supportive environment for women leaving an abusive situation, for women in crisis and transient women in need. Clients are welcome to bring their dependent children. The shelter provides all basic necessities including food, toiletries, used clothing, transportation to appointments and some child care. Crisis intervention, emotional support, education on abuse, risk assessment, safety planning and advocacy are also offered. The shelter provides outreach services to abused women who do not wish to access our residential program. Women who set up their own households after leaving the shelter may receive weekly follow-up visits for up to three months. Public information sessions on abuse-related topics are available. There is no charge for any service offered by the shelter.
