Our Town is located in North West Alberta, on the banks of the scenic Peace River Valley where the Peace, Smoky and Heart Rivers all meet.

The landscape that surrounds Peace River is among the most beautiful in the entire Province, with inspiring views from a number of popular lookouts such as the Twelve Foot Davis Gravesite, Kaufman Hill and Sagitawa Lookout.

A number of outdoor activities are available in Peace River, including hiking and biking some of the Town’s many trails, boating and kayaking the Peace, skiing one of the finest urban-based ski hills in Alberta and golfing in one of the many courses that surround town.

Culturally, the town is also very well served with a thriving artistic community that incorporates musical groups, a popular theatre company and several large and small annual festivals. A strong sense of place is embedded within the artistic community with many events acting as fundraisers for groups and organizations in Peace River.

As well as this, the Town has a fine Museum and a state of the art Library that opened in the Fall of 2011.
In the downtown core of Peace River you will find locally owned stores of all varieties, as well as a diverse array of restaurants while on the West Hill there are a number of nationally and internationally recognized retailers.
